Lisa Bradley is Councillor for Division 1, Logan City Council, Queensland. Lisa was elected on 15 March 2008. She has three teenage children, Emily, Jack and Georgia. Prior to 2008 elections Lisa worked 19 years as a registered nurse, including 14 years in Intensive Care. She has been involved in Quality Improvement, Education and Research. Lisa has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Nursing) and postgraduate qualifications in Intensive Care and Psychiatric Nursing.
Community involvement with Meals on Wheels, Clean Up Australia Day, Rotary, local Neighbourhood Watch, local school P&Cs, and lobbying for local issues drew Lisa Bradley’s interest to Council.
For two years prior to being elected, Lisa met with local residents, community leaders, business owners, State MPs, school principals and Brisbane City Councillors to define the issues and concerns of people in Division 1. Lisa has continued engagement as a Councillor.
Cr Bradley passionately feels Division 1 is a unique area of Logan. She feels it has exceptional natural resources and good facilities, with many people moving into the area because of the lifestyle it affords them. She hopes to maintain the right balance for this area.

I believe Lisa Bradley is a great Councillor for Division 1. She has excelled and exceeded all expectations in her role as our Councillor.
For those who have been fortunate enough to recently move into Division 1, CONGRATULATIONS! You have hit the jackpot!
As a resident of this Division 1 for over 25 years, I am extremely pleased to heap accolades on our hard working, diligent, charming, every obliging, understanding Councillor, Lisa Bradley. Did you know
that Lisa was a nurse before taking up the challenge of her work in our community as a Councillor? Perhaps this is why she has such a great understanding of our needs and does her utmost to provide it.
I urge you all to appreciate how fortunate we are to have Lisa Bradley because she has that inner knowing of what is needed and required to make our lives so much happier and uncomplicated in the community.
Got a problem? And you live in Division 1? Lisa will fix it!
Thank you Lisa – you are a beautiful person and a great Councillor. In my opinion, the BEST! We are very blessed to have you in Division 1. I appreciate and thank you for your wonderful work. May you light continue to shine brightly.”

Cr Lisa Bradley has followed Community Group VETO’s plight with keen interest since Energex announced in late 2008 that they intended to run powerlines along the Logan River and clear 42 ha of local koala habitat.  As Chairperson of the Environment and Sustainability Committee Lisa knows the issues first hand and with her assistance and the support of other Councillors, Logan City Council
have forced this proposal to be reviewed.
Lisa has been a staunch advocate of VETO, meeting with the community on numerous occasions, offering her insights to the press and attending local rallies to demonstrate her support.
VETO is still waiting for a positive outcome from the powerline review, but with ongoing support from Councillors like Lisa, we are hopeful the review will deliver more reliable and lower impact alternatives for our community

I have known Ms Lisa Bradley for approximately 15 years now. I have had the opportunity to interact with her in two roles both as a colleague and citizen of Logan City.
Ms Bradley and I worked together over a period of one year in the Intensive Care Unit of
Logan Hospital. Over this time I was able to observe her longitudinally. I worked as a doctor in the unit and Ms Bradley was a senior registered nurse. As you can imagine this is a demanding occupation for a health professional and requires tens of hundreds of decisions in any one shift, these decisions
require technical knowledge, excellent interpersonal skills and sound judgement. Ms Bradley set herself high standards with regards to her work and was able to meet them. She was well regarded by her clients and coworkers. I was sorry to see her move on from being a health professional as the Logan
community lost a valuable health professional.
I have lived in Logan City for over 25 years now. I have had the privilege of having Cr Bradley serve as my local representative. She has been diligent, creative and proactive in this role.”

On 15 March 2008 I voted for Lisa Bradley to be my council representative (Division 1). I did so on the basis of the commitments she made to the people verbally and in her written campaign pamphlets.
I will be casting my vote for the same person in the forthcoming election to return to office a dedicated, hard working Councillor who has delivered what she promised. The raft of community projects completed in our division is axiomatic of her commitment and support for the ratepayers of her division. I have had occasions to approach her, as a ratepayer, for assistance in resolving some issues and, without fail ,she has attended to them all in a prompt and efficient manner. As the President of a voluntary, not for profit, community organisation, I have had to seek her support, on occasions, to maintain our services and she has provided that support on every occasion.
She has worked tirelessly to promote environmentally sound developments in the division, promoted anti-hooning strategies and, as part of her numerous community projects, introduced traffic solutions that have benefited motorists and pedestrians. The beautification of Underwood Park with the improved facilities is a classic example of an erudite local government representative delivering for her constituents. She has a perennial vision for the Division and support for her at the ballot box will ensure we have the best possible candidate returned as our representative on Logan City Council.”

Having been in attendance to more Council meetings than some current Councillors over the last few years, I believe I have a good understanding of the professionalism and work ethics of our Councillors.
From memory Lisa Bradley’s attendance at Council meetings is second to none. This alone does not make a good Councillor but her representation of the people of Division 1 has been outstanding. Lisa
is one of only a few Councillors that constantly bring residents concerns along to Council meetings.
Many Council meetings I have attended attract a very small number of observers and usually no media representation.
At these meetings it is very clear to see the Councillors that are prepared to do the hard work required and the ones that well let’s be honest, are looking for the easy option. At the Council meetings with higher attendance records and media in the gallery it is also very easy to identify the Councillors that are
nothing more than “show ponies”. Lisa’s contribution at all Council meetings, regardless of who might or might not be impressed among the observers, has been genuine. Lisa has displayed the skill, competence and character expected of a Councillor. She works very hard for the residents of Division 1 and is
constantly looking for improvements in Logan City Council.
The people of Division 1 are very lucky to have a hard working, genuinely concerned representative at Logan City Council.”
